In addition to our regular programs, the museum hosts two major events each year.

 The Railroad  Museum joins other area museums each year to celebrate Museum Discovery Day.  This springtime adventure invites the public to tour several venues in a single day.  Admission is free and each museum offers visitors an historical treasure hunt with prizes for the children.  The event is held on the third Saturday in May between the hours of 10:00AM and 4:00PM.

The Christmas Party on the first Saturday in December draws hundreds of children to the brightly decorated museum for an opportunity to visit Santa Claus and receive a gift.  The event is always filled with family fun and refreshments.  Last year nearly 900 people dropped by to see Santa.  This 2008 party will be on Saturday, December 6, from 10-4.  We hope to see you there.
